Case Study
Contract manufacturing with a large multinational Fortune 500 company
Our Task
As one example, we worked as the contract manufacturing consultants for a large multinational Fortune 500 company for the supply of medical gowns during the early stages of the COVID pandemic. The task was to help our client facilitate production of medical protective gowns within a 6-month window.
Our Progress
This was a brand new application, market and value chain for our client. Within two weeks of initial contact, we identified 3rd party partners, set up the manufacturing value chain, finalized the design, and conducted FDA testing. In addition, we worked on production capacity and ramp up plans, passed initial quality checks, and provided supporting quality and manufacturing documentation to our client.
Our Success
Within 30 days of the award being granted, production commenced, and within 60 days, we oversaw the increase in manufacturing capacity by almost two orders of magnitude. During this time, our team worked with both the large company and the several third-party partners to navigate the complexities of the FDA, supply chain difficulties due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the ever-changing landscape of staffing shortages and regulatory changes. Overall, the project generated above $7MM in revenue in roughly 6 months.
